Bill to disclose outsourcing introduced

Three congressmen have introduced a bill they hope will reduce the number of jobs outsourced overseas.
The bill would amend the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 to require firms with annual revenues of $1 billion or more to disclose the number of employees working domestically compared to those hired overseas, according to the office of Rep. Jerry McNerney, D-Pleasanton, one of the bill's sponsors.

Quoting the Washington Post, McNerney reports that between 2000 and 2009, multinational corporations cut 2.9 million American jobs while adding 2.4 million overseas.

Reps. Gary Peters, D-Michigan, and Tim Bishop, D-New York, have joined McNerney in sponsoring the bill.
