Local Republican Leaders Endorse McNerney

LOCAL REPUBLICAN LEADERS ENDORSE MCNERNEY
Dublin, CA – Local Republican leaders Mayor Mike Doyle of Danville, Councilmember Steve Abercrombie of Tracy and former Mayor and Councilmember Jack Snyder of Manteca today offered their support to Congressman Jerry McNerney (CA-11).
Mayor Mike Doyle has served on the Danville Town Council for 20 years, including 4 times as Mayor. He has lived in the area for 58 years. An Air Force veteran, Mayor Doyleparticipated in the Berlin Airlift and is a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion.
“Jerry McNerney has done more for our veterans than anyone else that I’ve worked with,” said Danville Mayor Mike Doyle. “As a veteran myself, I deeply appreciate his hard work and his tireless commitment to the veterans who live in the Danville area. From fighting to keep the Livermore VA in veterans’ hands to supporting the renovations of the Danville Veterans Hall, Jerry McNerney has shown that he’s willing to work across the aisle and will get the job done for our community.”
Councilmember Steve Abercrombie has lived in Tracy since 1988 and has served on the City Council since December of 2006.
“I greatly appreciated Jerry McNerney’s work for the Tracy community,” said Tracy Councilmember Steve Abercrombie. “He’s a frequent presence at local events and is always willing to lend a hand with issues that are important to our area. Congressman McNerney supports important youth programs such as D.A.R.E and has attended D.A.R.E.graduations and provided letters of support for D.A.R.E.community volunteers. He’s open and accessible and holds public events to hear directly from the people he represents in Tracy. Tracy is well represented by Congressman Jerry McNerney.”
Former Manteca Mayor and Councilmember Jack Snyder was first elected to the City Council in 1972, he served until 1990 and then was reelected in 2002 and served until 2008. He was Mayor for 10 years and has lived in the Manteca community for 48 years.
“I’m offering my support to Congressman Jerry McNerney because he has served Manteca extremely well,” said former Manteca Mayor and Councilmember Jack Snyder. “He makes it a priority to participate in community events in Manteca and always takes the time to listen to and address our local issues. In addition, Jerry McNerney has worked tirelessly to serve the needs of the many veterans who live in our area. I’m glad to offer my support to Jerry McNerney.”
Congressman McNerney responded to these statements with the following words.

McNerney. “They all are tireless advocates for the communities they represent and believe in working together to find independent solutions to the challenges we face. I’m honored to have their endorsements and look forward to our continued work together to serve the people of this area well.”
These endorsements build on other high profile Republican support from San Joaquin County Supervisors SteveBestolarides and Larry Ruhstaller. They both offered Congressman McNerney their support last spring, citing his independence, accessibility, hard work, attention to local issues, and success in securing a new veterans medical facility and nursing home for San Joaquin County.
