CONGRESSMAN JERRY MCNERNEY WINS RE-ELECTION IN CALIFORNIA’S NINTH DISTRICT
I have represented this region for six years and gotten to know not only the people, but the issues that are important here. The spirit of community in this area has made a real impression on me, and I am grateful for the honor of continuing to serve you all.
I will continue to fight for what’s right for us and I thank you for standing with me.
Republicans announce targets
The National Republican Congressional Committee has (already!) announced 40 Congressional Democrats it wants to pick off in the next election — and Rep. Jerry McNerney isn’t one of them.
Jerry McNerney for Congress, District 9
What Gill has not been able to do is make a case that McNerney - a plainspoken, centrist, consensus-seeking Democrat with a focus on constituent services - should be replaced after six years in Congress.
Even less persuasive is Gill's argument that he is ready for Capitol Hill. His professional resume is as thin as some of his positions. He gets vague in a hurry when the subject turns to critical issues such as climate change, abortion rights, same-sex marriage and immigration reform.
No doubt about McNerney… Seasoned congressman has immersed himself in S.J. County issues

The race in the newly drawn House 9th Congressional District isn't even a close call. Incumbent Jerry McNerney is the clear choice.
McNerney, completing his third term in the 11th District, is running in the new, more compact 9th District that is largely San Joaquin County.
During his tenure representing the old district 11 that sprawled from northern San Joaquin County to Morgan Hill in Santa Clara County, McNerney grew from a political novice to a congressman with a deep, almost wonkish knowledge of the issues.
CC Times Endorses McNerney Without Reservation
Rep. Jerry McNerney, D-Stockton, focuses on policy issues. Since his surprise 2006 victory, McNerney, a soft-spoken mathematician, has proved to be a centrist who thoughtfully discusses the nuances of the country's complex problems.
